I was privileged to work with Clyde for 3 years when he was the national 4-H president. He had a ready smile and kind words even in the most contentious meetings. He was a wonderful role model for not taking ourselves too seriously! I do miss him.

My thoughts and prayers go with the Jackson Family. I met Clyde through work with Operation Military Kids. My first set of Hero packs he gave to some of our Deployee’s children really changed their lives and the life of the Deployee who was their mom.

His enthusiasm was contagious. We have lost a good one but God only wants the Good Ones.
Bless you and your family.

I was saddened by the news that Clyde had passed away. We served together as part of the officer team in the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents for two years (2005-07). It was an honor for me to serve with such a good-hearted person and fine gentleman. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Dear Jackson Family & Friends:
Clyde was my colleague in the Cooperative Extension 4-H Family. As such, he was a consummate professional and mentor. He represented Virginia 4-H in an outstanding manner on the national level and was friend to all across the state. Clyde always had a smile and encouraging and thoughtful comments to offer. He will be missed but the impact of his positive service to youth will continue to be appreciated. Blessings to all.

To Clyde's wife and son, Mrs. Booker, and Clinton,
I am shocked to read about Clydes passing. We grew up together in 4-H with Mr. Harding and with Mrs. Booker, then to continue our friendship at VSU together. He will be missed for homecoming where I would always hear "Here comes Miss. Lunenburg" at that time I knew it was Clyde. I shall always remember that smile and big hug I would get as we greeted each other.
May God continue to strenghten you today and in the future.
Sincerely,
Wanda Sanford Hill

God Bless you All during this moment of Praises and honor to such a Great Cousin. Sadness will be replaced with gladness of the love, warmth, and kindness Clyde shared with us....God has blessed us and Heaven with another Angel.Take joy and pride in knowing his work has just begun. God will supply all your needs if you just keep the Faith. Let God comfort you all...

October 25, 2009

Lettie, Clinton, Sandra, Children, and Family,

You have our sincere sympathy. June was a good friend of ours and one of the Hwy 612 family members. We often talked about having a 612 family reunion for everyone who lived on 612 because we grew up playing together and helping each other. There was a closeness among us all that wasn't seen in the surrounding neighborhoods. Sorry it didn't happen while he was alive to see it. He was a great person with a beautiful personality, who was always smiling, and ready to speak and talk. He will be missed by all of us. We pray that God will keep your hearts and minds and continue to bless you all.

Love,

To Clyde's family -- My consolences and prayers to you. I grew up in PW Cty in the 1980's and was very involved with 4-H, and Clyde was our extension agent during much of that time. He was always caring, such a positve role model, and always made time for whatever we needed. He was one of the reasons the 4-H program in PW County was so great. I haven't seen him several years, but I am greatly shocked and saddened by the news of his passing. Clyde will be so dearly missed, and I wanted you to know what a what a positive impact he had on so many kids - he lives on in so many of our hearts and memories. May God watch over your family in such a difficult time.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I was very sorry to hear of Clyde's passing. My deepest sympathies to his family. I hadn't seen or talked to Clyde in awhile but I valued his friendship and guidance while my two daughters spent many valuable years in the Tally-Ho 4H Club in Manassas. Whenever we would run into each other around Manassas we would always spend an inordinate amount of time talking and catching up. I'll miss that.
