Al was my boss at NCR. He had a positive, fun loving attitude, which made it fun to come to work. Rest in Peace my friend...

Al was one of the first people I met at Wild Lake. We used to fish together. Al was a good man and a great friend.

Jean and Family
I just found out last night about Al's passing. I don't get the newspaper and since this happened after the ball season, I had no way of knowing. Please accept my belated condolences. I truly enjoyed knowing Al and our conversations about golf, fishing, softball and other things. He was one of the BEST ! Truly a gentleman and a friend.

Dear Jeannie, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Al was a great player, coach and mentor to many of us in the Henrico Senior Softball League. It was truly a pleasure to get to know such a great guy. We have all been blessed knowing him.

Around 14 years ago I met AL,what a card. We went to some place called "The Dug Out" over off Mountain Rd. or there abouts. Jean was there. It was after a softball game. Al picked up the tab for all the snacks and we played pool. That is the first memory of Al that I can recollect. What a ballplayer he was! He will be missed!

Dear Jean and Family, while I had only limited visit with Al, it was obvious the joy he brought to you and those around him. Cherishing those memories will keep him close.

Jean and family - Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. I grieve with you. Darrell was such a sweet man. He was always so nice to me while I fished at Wilde Lake. I truly enjoyed the time I spent with him out there. I'll always cherish his stories about fishing and golf. He was a maestro with that purple worm. He will be dearly missed.

To Jean and family,
Always the gentleman, he exhibited grace and sensitivity whenever we were around him. His easy going demeanor was his trademark. Something was absent this past softball season and it was him. He will be greatly missed.
If there is anything we can do, don't hesitate to let us know.
Sincerely,
Harold and Cherlyn Toast

I had the pleasure of taking care of Mr. Alford during his stay at St. Mary's and feel very priviledged to have gotten to know both him and his loving wife, Jean. My deepest sympathy goes out to her and the rest of his family. I know he will be missed by all.
