Dona Hudson Obituary

HUDSON, Dona Virginia Mills, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 24, 2010, at her home in Charlotte, N.C. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willoughby "Bill" Hudson Jr. She is survived by her brother, Walter A. Mills Jr. of Emporia, Va.; and her sister, Mary M. Cabiness of Kenbridge, Va. (Buford); and several special nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hudson was a graduate of Smithdeal-Massey Business College, Richmond, Va., and retired from the United States Department of Customs/Immigration as an Import Specialist. She was a faithful member of Oakhurst Baptist Church in Charlotte for many years. She leaves a devoted, caring neighbor and friend, Priscilla Tillman; and devoted caregiver, Karen Hibbert. A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Lakeview Cemetery, Blackstone, Va., officiated by the Reverend Nathan Decker of Lebanon United Methodist Church, Jarratt, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association. Owen Funeral Home, Jarratt, Virginia is assisting the family with arrangements.
