HALL, Doris Cockrell, 89 formerly of Village, Va., died Friday the 30th of October 2009 in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania. Born in Tibitha, Va., Doris was the daughter of the late Dandridge Addison and Retha Sampson Cockrell. Her late husband, Junius Monroe Hall died in 1982. Survivors include two daughters, Betsy Hall James of Greer, S.C., and Martha Scott-Finley of Village, Va.; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild. Also surviving are two brothers, John Grafton Cockrell of Bluefield, W.Va. and Dandridge Addison (Mary) Cockrell Jr. of Ophelia, Va., and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Cockrell; and a sister, Ruby Cockrell Crabbe. Services from Henderson United Methodist Church, Callao, Va. on Wednesday, November 4 at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions to AseraCare Hospice at 315 Primrose Lane, Suite 101, Mountville, Pa. 17554 would be deeply appreciated. Alas I knew her only briefly, yet when in her presence, she was always most welcoming, generous and gracious to me. I shall miss her greatly.
