Doris Fones HUGHES

HUGHES, Doris Fones, of Richmond, passed away October 26, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Bradford Hughes Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Gail Hughes; her son, Earl Bradford Hughes Jr. and his wife, Linda; and grandchildren, Michael, Beth and Sarah. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She was deeply committed to her family, but always remained strong and independent. She was loved and adored by her family and friends who admired her sharp intelligence, loyalty, quick wit and unique approach to life. She was a retiree of the City of Richmond. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Bliley's-Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd. A graveside service will be held on Friday, 1 p.m., at Maury Cemetery.
