Edward Cox Obituary

COX, Edward Wallace, age 80, of Chesterfield, Va., formerly of Colonial Heights, Va., passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2010. He was born in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of the late Glen N. and Bertha Slezak Cox. Mr. Cox was a retired mechanical engineer who loved the outdoors, and took great pride in his yard. He was also very fond of model shipbuilding, making furniture, and working with wood. Mr. Cox is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carol D. Cox; children, Edward Cox and wife, Deborah, of Ashland, Va., Julie Davenport and husband, Sam, of Dallas, Texas, Joan Cox of Dallas, Texas, Susan Morgan and husband, Julian, of Matoaca, Va., and Noni Lamm and husband, Steven, of Chesterfield; 19 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis Rigdon and husband, Wilson, of Philadelphia, Pa., and Susan Reilly and husband, Robert, of Irvington, N.Y.; and a brother, Robert Cox of Baltimore, Md. A graveside funeral service will be held in honor of Mr. Cox on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family is being served by the Chester Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, where condolences to them may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
