I have fond memories of my mother, Zara Kaplan, and your grandmother, Blanche, being friends while I was growing up in New Britain. Through that friendship I got to know your mother, Deedee. She was a wonderful person and cared deeply for her family. I was so sorry to read of her passing and wish to extend my sincere sympathy to her family.
sincerely,

Deedee was a special friend to me, as she was to a lot of Hadassah members in Richmond. I learned a lot from her about being a leader. She was my mentor and guide as well as my friend, and I will miss her deeply.
