FAIR, Eleanor Maye, of Dallas, Texas, succumbed to cancer on December 29, 2010 at Legend Healthcare Center, Paris, Texas, at age 85. She was the daughter of the late James T. and Marion B. Brown of Millers Tavern, Va. Eleanor graduated from John Moncure High School in Millers Tavern as valedictorian of her class. She is survived by Joseph Fair, her husband of 55 years; three sisters, Pauline Stanley of Syracuse, N.Y., Constance Lewis of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Joycelyn Levin of Philadelphia, Pa.; and a brother, James Brown and his wife, Carlene, of Washington, D.C.; five nieces, seven nephews and several great-nieces and nephews. The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Grace Episcopal Church, Millers Tavern, Va., with interment at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Bruington, Va. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Grace Episcopal Church and/or Bethlehem Baptist Church. May light perpetually shine upon Eleanor. Arrangements by Washington Funeral Home, Inc., 1404 Tappahannock Boulevard, Tappahannock.
