Ernest Dabney

DABNEY, Ernest M., 70, of Ashland, Va. (Jamestown Road), entered eternal rest on June 14. He was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Dory and Norman; and one sister, Yvonne. He was a graduate of John M. Gandy High School, Ashland, Va., and attended the Fort Bragg Police Academy in Fayetteville, N.C. Ernest was an avid reader of popular fiction and a fishing enthusiast. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Rev. Sarah R. Dabney; two daughters, Renee D. Mills and Pamela Noble; three sisters, Ernestine Jones (Deacon Lloyd Jones), Lorane Trueheart (Fleming) and Elaine Wright (Michael); three brothers, Cornelius (Vernell), Everett (Delores) and Sie (Anna); four grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the F.E. Dabney Funeral Home, 600 B St., Ashland. Homegoing services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 19, at Providence Baptist Church, 9491 Providence Church Rd., Ashland. Rev.
