EVELYN GARNETT

GARNETT, Evelyn Harris Lowry, 86, of Richmond, Va., widow of Clifton Bryan Lowry, passed away on October 26, 2010 at Spring Arbor of Richmond. She was preceded in death by her parents, James A. and Elsie Harris; sisters, Mary Bivens and Meredith Harris. She is survived by a daughter, Patsy Rice and her husband, C. Scott Rice; brother and sister, Martha Stevens and Roy Harris; and grandchildren, Kimberly and Karen Ball; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Sean McConnell; favorite nieces, Elizabeth Mauney and Della Herring; and many other nieces and nephews. She spent all of her life helping others. As a member and volunteer of First Baptist Church in Richmond and a auxiliary board member of Elizabeth Crump Manor Nursing Home, as a volunteer with the Shepherd's Center of Richmond, and several other organizations. She touched many lives with her love. Visitation will take place at Woody Funeral Home, Parham Chapel, on Friday, October 29, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Graveside services to follow at Westhamptom Memorial Park followed by a reception at Hebron Presbyterian Church, Manakin-Sabot, Va.
