I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Douglas' passing. I was the church secretary for several years and she helped me each week with the Spire. She was a wonderful lady and will be missed. My prayers are with you.

Florence and Ed were neighbors of ours in Richmond before we moved a few years ago. We absolutely adored each of them and Ed was our "official" handman for we two inept individuals and we looked forward each year to Florence's hoppin' John relish!!! They adored and loved their grandchildren and talked about the girls all the time. We were always so impressed by Florence's daily swimming activities and her involvement in the church and we adored Ed's gentle giant friendliness. We will miss both of them and will be out of town on a business day-trip the morning of the memorial service but wish we could attend in honor of two very special and dear people. We are so very sorry that you lost your mom and grandmom.

I am sorry to hear of Florence's passing. Please accept my sincere thoughts of sympathy and my prayers. I had the priviledge of knowing both Florence and Ed at Bland Street United Methodist. It was always a pleasure to sing in the choir with Ed, and when Florence and Ed made the decision to move to Richmond, they took my wife and I "under their wings" and trained us to take over the altar. They showed us how things were to be done with class and with love and devotion to the church making sure that it was decorated to the Glory of God. I have thought of both of them with fond memories. Again, please accept my sincere sympathy.
