I knew and depended on Fred for many years while I worked at the Daily Planet and was a Board member. He was one of the most down to earth and giving men I have ever known. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed. My condolences to the family.

Dear Family,
I had the pleasure of knowing Fred for many, many years. His kindness and humor will be remembered by many and his professional real estate knowledge greatly missed. He was a great friend when we were in classes at RPI years ago. You will be in my thoughts. Joanne Cash

Fred Ellis was a decent, kind, good man who started helping the Daily Planet at least 30 years ago, and I believe he was a member of the board all that time. He was devoted to making the lives of the people who came to the Planet better. When I worked at the Planet, every single thing I ever asked him to do (which was a lot!), he did with good cheer and wonderful humor. I am so sad to learn of his death. His passing is a great loss to all of Richmond, but especially to the poor and homeless people for whom he cared so deeply.

I worked at the Daily Planet from 1989-1995, and was able to work with Fred on many facility issues and Board events. He was a wonderful man with a great sense of humor and alot of concern for the clients who came to the agency. My thoughts and prayers are with you; he will be missed. L
