Fred Fisher

FISHER, Fred C., 74, of Richmond and Gwynn's Island, died on Sunday, April 11, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, William C. and Sue C. Fisher; first wife, Dudley Warmath Fisher; daughter, Grace K. Fisher; and brother, William Fisher. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Mayo Fisher; son, J. Christian Fisher (Nancy); daughter, Lisa Fisher Crum (Matthew); grandchildren, Billy and Jennifer Fisher and Brice and Morgan Crum; stepchildren, Lisa Cashwell and her children, Kristen and Austin, David Hinckle (Veronica) and his children, Amanda and Emily, and Colin Hinckle (Linda) and his children, Kate and Nick. Fred was a 1957 graduate of Vanderbilt University. He retired as a Major from the Tennessee Air National Guard. He was an active member of Seventh Street Christian Church, where he was an Elder, Deacon, Treasurer and Board Chairman. He worked at Cain Sloan Department Store in Nashville and for Thalhimers in Richmond. He was a member of Westhampton Masonic Lodge No. 302, AF&AM, the Westwood Club and the Mathews Yacht Club. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Avenue. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 15, at Seventh Street Christian Church, 4101 Grove Avenue, Richmond, Va. 23221. Interment will be held in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Nashville, Tenn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seventh Street Christian Church Memorial Fund.
