Garnett Mothershead Obituary

MOTHERSHEAD, Garnett W., 90, of Foneswood, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 30, 2009. He was the widower of Auburn B. Mothershead, a retired farmer, an elder emeritus of Ephesus Christian Church and served with the Farmers Home Administration for a number of years. He is survived by a son, Gerald W. Mothershead and his wife, Susan; a daughter, Ellen Martin and her husband, Bill, of Montross; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a great-grandson. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 5, at Ephesus Christian Church, Foneswood, Va. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Montross Chapel of the Welch Funeral Home on Friday, December 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ephesus Christian Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Sue France, 9642 Newland Road, Warsaw, Va. 22572, or Bon Secours Hospice, 1822 Tappahannock Blvd., Tappahannock, Va. 22560.
