FISHER, Deacon Horace Robinson Jr., departed this life October 24, 2009 at Sitter and Barfoot Veterans Care Center. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Gertrude A. Fisher. He was a lifelong member of St. John Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a retired mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Charity Lodge # 25 Prince Hall F&A Masons. He leaves to mourn his passing his devoted son, Horace R. Fisher III (Brenda); two loving grandchildren, Robin A. Fisher and Horace R. Fisher IV; brother, Everett L. Fisher (Johnnie) of Franklin, Tennessee; nine nieces and nephews, other family and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 30, at 1 p.m. at St. John Baptist Church, 4317 North Avenue. Rev. Dr. Michael Felton officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. To Horace and Family,

So sorry to learn of the death of Mr. Fisher. I just happened to read the obits today and saw the announcement. Once again I am deeply sorry for your loss. I remember him and Ms. Gertrude fondly growing up. Love to you.

Lil' Horace & family, you all have my deepest symphany. I'm sorry I wasn't able to come to the funeral, I stayed here in Franklin with Mom. I just wanted you all to know that I love you and will miss talking with Uncle Horace when he would call my Dad.

My dearest PaPa, I just wanted to let you and everyone else know that I love you will all my heart. I know that you are free from pain and suffering and that you and grandma are laughing and joking and maybe even fussing just for old time sake,lol. I am gonna miss you and you smile, your strong silent presence, and just the overall joy that you brought to my life.
