BRANCH, Jacqueline Jones McCoy, 78, of 522 Heretick Avenue, Hopewell, Va., died Saturday, October 16, 2010 at her residence. Born in Craven County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Dewey D. and Claudine Estelle Jones and was the wife of George N. Branch of the residence. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Branch is survived by her daughter, Kitty M. Parker of South Mills, N.C.; a son, Ornie A. McCoy Jr. and his friend, Sondra Shelton, of South Mills, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Debbie DeVincenzi and husband, John, of Surry, Va.; sisters, LaRue Brittle of Sedley, Va., Jean Albertson of Suffolk, Va., Mollie Fowler and husband, Steve, of Suffolk, Va., and Joni Joyner and husband, Gene of Wakefield, Va.; brothers, William "Bill" Jones and wife, Elna of Sedley, Va., Dewey Jones Jr. and wife, Gayle, of Trinidad, Colo., Vernon Jones and wife, Sue, of Suffolk, Va., and Franklin Jones of Suffolk, Va.; grandchildren, Kristin Bunn and husband, Speight, of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Benjamin Torborg of South Mills, N.C.; a great-grandchild, Jackson Bunn of Elizabeth City, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ornie A. McCoy Sr; and her sisters, Thelma Atkins and Mildred Jones. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Twiford's Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Wade Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
