Jake and I graduated University College in 1989. We shared a lot of time together thereafter. We rode bikes along the Blue Ridge Mtns, climbed the 2nd highest peak in the state during the dark, and earned green belts in Tang So Do. He was the best buddy a girl could have. He is missed and just can't be replaced.
He had kept a poem I wrote for him for decades...I wish we were as light as feathers, snowflakes, lace; as to float among the heavens so high in the sky...
Jake you made it to the heavens before me; when my world turns to lace, I'll join you there.
Best pal, love ya, Dee

I knew Jake thru yoga at AFF in Mech. I was fortunate to spend some time outside of class with him, he was such a unique and interesting man! I havent seen him in some time, I gave up yoga awhile back. It was a shock to hear of his passing.
From what I knew of him, Jake lived life on his own terms to the fullest extent! His letters to the editor of this newspaper were always a delight to read.
He will be missed.

Valerie,
As we spoke last night, you asked if I knew how many years (30 or 40 being said) your dad had worked at the Federal Reserve. You knew he retired in 2002. I said I would check today & let you know on this site, but after speaking with several of his co-workers in Audit last night who also retired after 40 years there, one knew he was there in 1960s. I then spoke with your Aunt Eva and she said that was probably correct as he was four years older than her and she graduated from HS in 1964. So from this we assume he was there 42 (1960 @ 18 yrs old) years (or no less than 40 anyway for it was said he went to UofR nights?, but I will definitely find out through the Retiree Club or human resources as soon as I can for you if his administrator doesn't first for you.
The best to you and your family,

To Jim's family,
I worked with Jim at the Federal Reserve, and was always impressed by his enthusiasm for doing a good job. But more important to him than that was his pride in his daughter and his grandson, and the joy they brought to his life.
Valerie and Jason, I know this is a very hard time for you both. I hope that, soon, you will be able to take comfort in the pleasure that you gave to Jim.
My thoughts are with you all.

To Jim's Family,
I was saddened to hear of Jim's passing this past weekend. Jim and I worked together at the Federal Reserve and kept in contact through Christmas cards and the occasional chance meeting.
Jim was full of life and always showed genuine concern for myself and my family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

To James' Family ~
James was Jake to me and I called him friend. I got to know Jake before he retired and after retirement, seeing him at our monthly Breakfast @ Shoney's (Valarie and Jason, he spoke of having seen you at our last breakfast on 10/1) and retiree meetings at FRBR. Jake served tirelessly in his duties as VP of our Retiree Club and volunteered for many charities, especially Alzheimers. He will be missed here on earth, but I know he will be serving still. May his wonderful memories enfold and comfort each of you in God's love.
Sincerely,
Friend and FRBR Retired Coworker

Dear Donnie, Christine, Alex and Families,
We were very sorry to learn of James' death. I know how close you were with him and that there is now a void in his place. Please remember all the good times you shared and how he was there for you when you needed him. He was a sweet man who was kind and left impressions of his sincerity with those he came in contact with. I pray for God's strength and comfort in the days ahead and that His hand would guide you through. James was a good man.
Love ya'll,
Shelby, Chuck and Families
