John Gould

GOULD, John C. "Jack," 57, of Hopewell, passed away on September 23, 2010. He was the son of the late Walter and Joanne Sewall Gould. Jack was the former Commonwealth Attorney for Hopewell, and City Attorney for Hopewell, from 1990 to 1995. He was listed in Who's Who of American Lawyers in both 1979 and again in 1989. He was an employee of Marks and Harrison, Attorneys at Law. Jack was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Hopewell Salt Water Anglers Club, Sons of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 637, member of Historic Hopewell Foundation, as well as a former member of the Hopewell Kiwanis Club, Moose Club, and Jaycees Club. Mr. Gould is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann Gould; two sons, Anderson and Jim Gould; and two sisters, Barbara Gould and Judy Pennell. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 1, 2010 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Hopewell, with the Reverend Bill Taylor officiating. Interment will be private. Arrangements by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Foundation or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
