ADAMS, John Henry "Daddy John," died April 9, 2010. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Martha Brown-Woodley Adams; daughter, Mamie Bland; stepchildren, Jewel Grandison (Joseph), Viola Williams (Fred), Alfred Cary, Brenda Ince (Paul), Shirley Douglas, William Cary (Evelyn), Doris Smith (Willie), Sylvia Bailey, John "Kenneth" Adams, Minister Dwight R. Brown Sr. and Dr. Renia Cobb (James); sisters, Irene Phipps (Robert), Hattie Adams, Joyce Ann Lundy (Melvin Sr.), Rebecca Jean (Willie) and Alma Beatrice (John); brother, Walter Guy (Mary Ethel); brother-in-law, Timothy Lewis (Joyce); sisters-in-law, Mattie Lewis and Joyce Harris. Funeral services will be held 12 noon Thursday, April 15, 2010, at Brown Grove Baptist Church, 12816 Bailey Bridge Road, Midlothian, Va. The Rev. Andrew Carey, pastor, officiating. The interment church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral establishment.
