Joseph Hogg

HOGG, Joseph Frederick "Fred," a resident of Williamsburg, Va., answered God's call to come home on December 14, 2009. He was a true gentleman, kind and loving, and grateful for the many blessings he had on earth. He had a loving heart and spirit. Fred was a decorated veteran of WW II, proudly serving his country. He later worked as a finance officer for the CSX Railroad, retiring after 39 years of service. In later life, he enjoyed gardening, particularly loving roses. Fred is survived by his wife, Anne Maxson Hogg; many beloved nieces and nephews and friends, and his beloved little dog, Chloe. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 17, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg. A funeral service will be held at noon in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Richmond, Va. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fred's memory to Hospice Support Care of Williamsburg, 4445 Powhatan Pkwy., Williamsburg, Va. 23188, or the Heritage Humane Society, 430 Waller Mill Rd., Williamsburg, Va. 23185.
