Josephine Pietrocola

PIETROCOLA, Josephine "Josie," 92, passed away peacefully Friday, April 9, 2010 at Rosewood Garden Nursing Home, following a short illness. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Florenzia Nero Grillo. In 1942, she wed Francis Pietrocola, who passed away in 2001. Josie was primarily a homemaker. Aside from spending time with her family, she enjoyed roller skating, shopping, bowling and going for walks. She was the mother of Richard Pietrocola (Litia) of Guilderland, Robert Pietrocola (Marygrace) of Nassau and Joanne Pietrocola of Virginia. Eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren also survive her. She was the sister of the late Frances Graham and Lucy Albertson. Funeral services Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 10 a.m. from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen St., Albany, thence to the Parish of Mater Christi (formerly St. Catherine of Siena Church) at 10:30 a.m., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday, April 13, 2010 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
