Our Prayers, thoughts and condolences are extended to "our" family. To the immediate family of Joyce Branch "FRUITCAKE" . . . who always had a HUGE SMILE and a kind word for my family and I. When she visited us recently in Charlotte, North Carolina, she blessed us with her presence, humility and laughter. During this difficult time, know one sure thought . . . she truly is with God now and has been "chosen" to be one of his "ANGELS". Over the next few days, weeks and months . . .reach out to God, for He alone CAN & WILL comfort you, guide you and lift your spirits. We love "each" of you all so very, very much. For, God knows, there was only "one" soul like "FRUITCAKE"!!! Be encouraged . . . . like "FruitCake" encouraged me personally, as well as, how she encouraged all of God's people she came in contact with. "Be Blessed"

To Fruitcake's Family;
My condolences goes out to each and everyone one of you. Fruitcake was my dear, dear friend. Our friendship was one that I will hold deep in my heart until the day I leave this earth. We would go weeks without talking and when we did it was as if we had just talked the day before. I didn't have blood sisters here in Richmond, Fruitcake was my Fraternal Sister as well as my (Blood) Sister. We told each other things that could only be shared with a true sister friend. I know that you will miss her and so will I, but I know that she is in a better place, she told me over two weeks ago that she was ready whenever God was ready for her. Whenever you feel sad (as I know we will) just remember that Fruitcake lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed it all the way.

Dearest Family of my childhood friend Fruitcake. How sad it was to hear of her death last night? Everyone thought the other had told me she had died on Thanksgiving Day, so what a shock and surprise to hear my family speaking of her as if she were no longer with us here on earth. Well, after taking it all in, I thought, only Fruitcake would take this great day, Thanksgiving Day to say thanks God for giving me such a wonderful family and friends,a good life and the pleasure to serve you. I am sure she said thanks God for the bad health and the good health, for on the good days she truly knew how blessed she was.

We sang in the Baby Choir at Shiloh Baptist Church and I don't know if you children and grandchilden knew she was our best leading singer. I always wished I could sing like Fruitcake. She was a jewel she is a jewel in heaven now. Treasure her memories and know that God loves her best.

What a joy you are Fruitcake, Now sing for Jesus !!!!

Rest in peace,
You are missed,
Your Friend,
Phiney

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

There is no bond greater than that between a mother and her children. Fruitcake was a loving mother and
grandmother to all her children and to those that were not her children.
She has gone from labor to reward, no more sickness, no more pain.
Weeping may endure for a night but Joy comes in the morning.
Peace and Blessing always.. Love from the hearts of my family to hearts of your family.
