PAYNE, Mrs. Joyce Ann Allen, departed this life Wednesday, December 30, 2009. She was born in Buckingham County to the late Charlie and Annie Allen. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Curtis W. Payne, who passed December 18, 2004. She took to playing the piano at an early age. In her middle years she studied music and earned an Associate of Liberal Arts degree from Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. She played piano for various churches in the Dayton area. She is survived by her two sons, Curtis W. Payne Jr and Barry C. Payne; sister, Almeda Crossin; grandchildren, Lakisha Payne, Micah Payne, Ronnie Payne, Shomari Payne, Camille Payne, Ali Payne; and his mother, Cynthia Payne; great-grandchildren, Avery and Jaelyn; devoted nieces, Betty Ann Pinkston and Page Hawk; a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 12 noon today at Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Ave. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.
