Lafayette "Fate" BARNES

BARNES, Lafayette "Fate," 73, departed this life suddenly on October 28, 2009. He leaves to cherish his memory devoted son, Romefayette Barnes (Sarah); two daughters, Michelle Hawkins and Wanda Griffin; stepdaughter, Mary Mitchell; five grandchildren, Romefayette Barnes Jr., Dominique Griffin, Ray Jean Morman, Candra Mitchell, and Ashley Mitchell; three sisters, Laura Ross, Eula Mae Godwin, and Cora Sneed; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Ave. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 6, at 1 p.m. at the Victory Tabernacle Baptist Church International, 600 Chimborazo Blvd. Elder Kevin Harris, pastor, Apostle Brenda Stancil, officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Remains may be viewed at the funeral home Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The remains will rest in the church one hour prior to service.
