KRUSZEWSKI, Lanie Marie, beloved daughter, sister, and friend, died this past Sunday, July 29, 2012. She is survived by her parents, Patty and Reggie Kruszewski; two sisters, Leah and Jackie; and dear friend, Daniel Pritchett. She is also survived by her grandmothers, Phyllis Heberling of Virginia Beach, Grace Kruszewski of Newport News, and Marilyn Heberling of Atlantic Beach, Florida. Born March 4, 1988, Lanie attended Maggie Walker Governor's School in Richmond and graduated from James Madison University in 2011. She was an avid athlete, excelling at field hockey, soccer and basketball. More recently, she helped coach field hockey at Maggie Walker. Lanie was a food enthusiast, receiving a scholarship in 2006 to attend the Art Institute's culinary program. She loved strange and international foods but held a special place in her heart for all things bacon. She worked at Richmond restaurants Amici and Osaka, and loved riding her bike. She was a lover of books, especially the Harry Potter series. She was a generous and loyal friend, a loving sister and daughter, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Lanie's spirit and enthusiasm for living was apparent in everything she did. Services will be held Friday, August 3, at Maggie Walker Governor's School at 1000 N. Lombardy St., in Richmond at 3 p.m., followed by a reception at the family home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Brainfood (brain-food.org), Virginia Bicycling Federation (vabike.org), and Maggie Walker Governor's School Foundation (804-354-1566).
