You were always family to me, Lawrence. You were such a kind man with such a beautiful smile :) I miss our Sunday lunch dates that you, me, Lonie and my Nanny would take together to McDonalds or Wendys, whichever you preferred. I can't believe its almost been a year since you passed away, time really does fly by so fast. Although we have quite an age difference, I will always consider our friendship to be one of the ones I am the fondest of. I love you and miss you so much, and I cannot wait to see you again <3

Dear Lonie:

A W left a message on our voice mail while we were away telling us Lawrence had passed. I am so sorry for your loss but rejoice knowing what a wonderful Christian man he was. Ken and I will always remember his kind ways and smiles. I fondly remember the VPEA conventions and hospitality that we all shared together. People like you and Lawrence truly made it a Family Experience and we are all better remembering the high standards that Lawrence projected for us in our business world. More importantly, he was just a warm and joyful person. God Bless you and keep you in the days ahead. Beverly and Ken Childress ( B & K Technical Service, Inc)

Lonie,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I remember when I first started coming to Walmsley, Lawrence made sure that Ryan introduced me to him, as well as to you. I loved all the stories that he told me about my mischevious husband, and he will definitely be missed.

We love you!

Aunt Lonie,

Jax and I want to send our thoughts and prayers to you and we want you to know how much we love you and are here for you! Uncle Lawrence was Truly an exceptional man! We were all very fortunate to have him in our lives. I will always have a "Smile" on my face when I think of him. "Slap Jack" comes to mind....he loved to play that game with me when I was growing up and then he loved to play it with Jax. He got so tickled and was full of laughter! We will miss him so much! I love you!

I remember when I first came to Richmond and visited WBUMC with my sister Ronda. We came out of church and our car would not start. Lawrence and Lonie came to our rescue all dressed up with big smiles on their faces offering their help. This left a really great impression on me seeing their great kindness. Lawrence always had a big smile and a great hug for everyone he came across. We will really miss this gentle man. Reta Hobbs - Ronada & Cindy

Dear Lonie,
I was pleased to have been able to call Lawrence, Uncle Lawrence, even though we were not truly related. You and Lawrence have been very dear to me for many years, which I am gratefull to say, you both are family to me always. The years you had together were special one's, just as the two of you. I was so touched by the love the two of you shared, which I know will never end. You and Lawrence were so Blessed to have one another and all that you shared in the wonderful years of bliss that could only be shared by the two of you. God Bless you both. I am always a phone call away when needed.
Love,
Deborah

My Great Uncle Lawrence was the sweetest, most sincere gentleman. As a child I remember his hugs as you greeted him and then again every time you would walk/run past him you would get more. I can still feel them. His love, joy and compassion for those around him will be greatly missed. I love you!
