Lonnie Kirk Obituary

Published by Richmond Times-Dispatch on Aug. 29, 2010.
KIRK, Sr. Lonnie Daniel "Danny" "Captain," was beamed up by Scottie Friday, August 27, 2010 after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born December 13, 1942 and is survived by his son, Lonnie Kirk of Goochland, Va.; and his two daughters, Laura Dick of Sutherland, Va. and Cynthia Lawson of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; and ten grandchildren. He was a proud member of the Local #666 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 33 years. He was loved and admired by family and many, many friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. A memorial celebration will be announced at a later date. God Bless the Captain!

RIP Danny...His family & friends remain in our thoughts & prayers. My brother & I have known Danny Kirk since we were children. He was indeed a nice man, & had piercing-blue eyes (gorgious eyes) that would twinkle when he laughed. RIP Danny.
With Love,

So sorry for your loss. Danny was a great person and a true friend to all that knew him. I was lucky enough to enjoy his company, and enjoyed talking to him, whenever I saw him. Prayers and thoughts are with the family.

So sorry to hear about the passing of The Captain. We go back to high school days. We would tell tales about our Yorkies at Rosie's in the recent past. He will be missed.
