When I would visit St. Louis annualy and had the occasion to meet with him, I enjoyed talking with him about JSU and how the University could progress, wonderful man to know. I am deeply saddened to hear of his untimely passing and offer my sincerest condolences and sympathies to his family, friends and fromer team members. A true loss for Jackson State Univesity.

I met Louis in 1992 when he was working for MBCO in their mountain region.
I was privileged to have spent quality time with this great man. I watched as people gravitated to him in any and all social settings. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment I was in his company. Even though life took us in different directions and I haven't been in contact with Louis for over 10 years I thought of him frequently. Saddly I dicovered this terrible news today as I tryed to find out where he was living now and how I could reconnect with him.
I am deeply sadenned and my heart goes out to his family. While this is a great loss for mankind I have no doubt that our dear Lord God has given Louis a very special place in heaven.
May God bless Louis's entire family.

Dottie & family ~
I was just going through some photos from our Woodinville days and saw a picture of Ashley at Roberts birthday party. I think Ashley and him were about 2 years old. So thought I would check online to see what the Bullard family was up to and read about Louis. We are so sorry for your loss. You were the best neighbors and Louis was such a kind and loving father. What an awesome son you have and I'm sure Ashley grew up to be just like her mom. Our condolences are with all of you.

I recently heard of the passing of Louis and was deeply saddened. The world has lost a good person. I worked with Louis at Miller Brewing when I visited TN. When I met him, it was like I had known him all my life. He had a big personality and was a pleasure to be around. Please accept my sincerest sympathy, and may God bless you.

I grew up with Dickey. That's how I knew him. I am crying my eyes out while I write this. We grew up beside one another. I remember him so well and Carolyn (she and I were best friends back then), Cora Lee, Tank, and everyone else. I remember falling into a ditch and he came running to pull me out. I remember how our families worked the cotton fields together. It only seems like yesterday. Back then even with all the racial tension, my family taught me not to look at the color of a person's skin but the color of their heart. A white family and black family raised side by side on the bluffs of the Delta. They were so precious to me. The Bullard's are the finest people I have ever known. I praise God that he allowed them to open their hearts to me. I am honored to have been a part of their lives. After all these years I still remember and love them.
Dickey, I will see you in heaven. I will walk the streets of gold with you.
Your sister in Christ.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Dear Dorothy & Family:
I was deeply saddened to hear of your loss. Louis & I were friends and partners at Miller Brewing Company. Louis was a mountain of a man and made everybody around him better. Truly a kind-hearted, gentle giant, Louis had strong values, always kept his family #1, treated others with dignity and respect and was a champion in every sense of the word. Thinking of him makes me smile. Our adventures together will never be forgotten and his memory, and my heartfelt respect for him, will live on forever. I was lucky to have known Louis, as was anybody who knew him. We will keep Louis in our heart forever. He was a special human being and I was extremely blessed to have him as a friend. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. To my old friend, you made the world a better place for those you touched.

Dottie, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Bull was such a wonderful and funny guy. I believe we were among the first non-football people you folks met in Seattle. I remember inviting you and Bull on our sailboat and when he stepped on board his bulk made the boat drop deeply in the water, and he thought we were trying to drown him!!!
You guys were among the sweetest people I've ever known. I'm just heart broken to know of his passing. My prayers are with you and family.

To the family of Louis Bullard,
I was shocked and saddened to learn of the untimely passing of Louis. I was a member of the Seahawks front office staff when Louis played there. We made many speeches together on behalf of the club. Big Louis would get into my car and off we would go to regale the fans with our Seahawks stories. Louis captivated them with his easy going manner and interesting stories while I had the hard job of following him with my pitch.
I tried in vain to get in contact with Louis after I heard his son Alex was recruited to play football for the University of Notre Dame. He was so proud of Alex according to the Notre Dame staff members I have talked to. Former Notre Dame Head Football Coach Charlie Weis, said Louis visited the campus and his son often. I hope Alex continues at Notre Dame in honor of his father and for himself.
I hope to meet Alex in person in the future when I travel there to photograph a game, as I so enjoyed the friendship I had with his father. I will never forget the smiles and great conversations I had with Louis as we drove from one public speech to another. We had fun together.
He will be sorely missed. God Bless his Soul
