Lue Adkins Obituary

Published by Richmond Times-Dispatch on Sep. 14, 2010.
ADKINS, Lue Ander, Christian man and Deacon Emeritus of Samaria Baptist Church, completed his 84-year "walk through this forest of life" on Sunday, September 12, 2010. Most knew him as "Bubba Lue" and most also knew of his prayer to live such that others could see Jesus Christ, his Master, through him. Bubba Lue is survived by his wife of 60 years, Theodora; children, Judy Baber (Ed), Donna, Dana (Diana), and Melva Jefferson (Chris); seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, 12 of 16 siblings, and a great host of other family and friends. The family welcomes your visitation to celebrate the testimony of Bubba Lue's life and the memories he left with us, including nearly 50 years as a carpenter in the region east of Richmond. Visitation will be at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, on Tuesday, September 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at Samaria Baptist Church, 8130 Lott Cary Road, Providence Forge, on Wednesday, September 15, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samaria Baptist Church Building fund.
