MARGARET EULER Obituary

EULER, Margaret Emily, 88, died Saturday, August 6, 2011 in a local hospital in Richmond after a long illness. She had been a resident at Heartfields Assisted Living at Richmond for several years. Emily is survived by a cousin, Carolyn Euler McKown of Milton, Delaware; and her dear friends, Gloria E. Jones and Lyn Ragland of Richmond. Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late August Henry Euler and Mercer Fentress Euler. After graduation from Craddock High School, she was employed by Seaboard Air Line Railroad (now CSX Transportation) in Portsmouth. She relocated to Richmond with the railroad in 1958, where she worked until retirement. She also worked part time in the Accounting Department of Thalhimer's. Emily was a member of First English Lutheran Church of Richmond, Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, and the American Business Women's Association. She enjoyed participating in the Seaboard company bowling league. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Avenue, Richmond. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Portsmouth, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First English Lutheran Church.

My name is Wayne Chambliss. My father, Clifton Chambliss, worked for SAL RR from the 40's to 1967.He worked in Portsmouth until they moved to Richmond. I was born and raised in Portsmouth. I went to Simonsdale Elementary. Anyway, my father passed away on 6-7-8. I don't know whether dad knew her or not. My condolences to the family
