HAPPY MOTHER DAY T

We were so sorry to hear of your loss. The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow.
ROSITA BYRD
December 10, 2009
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To Carl, Jerome, Lamont, and Carl Jr. My prayers are with you. Toni will be missed by many. Keep in mind that she will not have to sleep long. The time will come when this scripture will be fulfilled, Revelation 21: 4 says, " And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain will be anymore. The former things have passed away." The hope of a resurrection is real and a guarantee from our Heavenly Father. Jesus died that we may live again and so shall Toni.

To Carl Antony and family, my thoughts are forever with you. She will be loved and missed by a lot of people. Carl there is an old hymn of the church that says "We shall be changed from mortal to immortality in the twinkling of an eye." God really does know what he's doing. Death is going to happen to us all. It is so hard to see our love ones go. The entire Byrd family have always been a strong family, I should know because my mother was a Byrd along with uncles and aunts and we have looked death right in the eye and dealt with it. You and your family will do the same for Toni. If you need anything I am truly just a phone call away. Call me if for no more than consolation. Your cousin Toni. .

To Big Carl, Lil Carl, Lamont and all other family members. Words can not express my sorrow that comes with the finding of your loss. Ms .Toni, as she was well known, was not just a mother to you, but a mother to all that knew her. God used her to be a blessing to so many that were in need of a listening ear. I can still hear her laughing while sitting on the front porch at all of my "stuff/foolishness" that I used to tell her! (LOL)
Thank you for allowing your biological mother to be a mother and friend to all of her neighborhood kids. She will truly be missed and her memories will be cherished in my heart.
Finally, know that God has the master plan although we may feel discomfort in His sudden actions, we can rejoice in knowing that all of you now have a angel watching out for you! So when you feel that there is a presence in your space and can’t quite put your finger on what the feeling, know that it's just Ms. Toni, your momma letting you know that she is doing just fine and watching over you!
Much love-
