Maurice Hawley Obituary

Published by W.S. Watkins & Son Funeral Home from Nov. 14 to Nov. 20, 2009.
HAWLEY, Maurice, 31, of Richmond, Va., died on November 9, 2009. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shelia Celestine Hawley Dickens. He leaves to cherish a loving and devoted wife, Shameka. His memory lives on through his seven children, Deshun, Lesha, Nyesha, Maurice "Lil Moe," Lamont, Moenay, and Celeste; two uncles, Alfred Jr., Terry Hawley; two aunts, Carolyn and Cheryleen Hawley; mother-in-law, Thelma Taylor of North Carolina; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Maurice was an only child, but found a brother in William "Lil Man" Spencer. Big Moe touched a lot of people and they touched him in some kind of way. He was a great listener, and a very good talker. He loved people. Big Moe made people feel special, accepted and loved. Memorial services will be conducted at W.S. Watkins & Son Funeral Home, 2700 North Ave., at 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2009.

My deepest sympathy to the family. I am truly sorry to hear of your lost. Big Moe was an old school age friend and although I haven't seen him in a long time, he will be missed. I pray for strength and endurance for you all throughout this time.

Please accept my deepest sympathy in the passing of your dear loved one. It is especially sad for one so young. May you find comfort in your memories and the hope for the near future when death, tears, and sorrow will be things of the past and God's will is being done on earth as it is in heaven.
