My best bud of 33 years, Mac, Its been three months, I still go to call you every day. Mac touched everybody that he meet, how many people can honestly say that. I know its been a huge void in my life with out hanging with Mac. The lord has been helping me see what is really important and one day we all will be with Mac again, that does put a big ol smile on my face. God bless Mac and everyone that was touched by him

Uncle Mike, we will miss you so much. All your stories and pranks we took for granted are now what we would give anything to hear once again. We love you and God bless you.

I had the privilege to work with Mike at United Power and to call him my friend. Mike was one of the few people that could bring sunshine into people’s lives. I remember once he called me at home from a job site and said “the equipment had caught on fire, burned down a third of the building and that there were 7 fire trucks there. What should I do?” He was kidding of course but he would do anything for a laugh. We would often go out to lunch together at Joe’s Inn and he would insist that we split the meal because that was the best value. I could always count on Mike to take the most critical jobs and to pull them off. I will miss Mike and my condolences go out to his family. God Bless!

I met Mike at United Power, via the telephone with the fake accent and name, he was so comical, I enjoyed it so when he came into the office, I'm going to miss him. My thoughts & prayers go out to his family.

I worked with Mike back in his United Power days as well. I was so sorry to hear of his sudden passing. He was such a good person, and you could always count on him to give 110% in all that he did. One of the things that I remember most about him was his devotion to his Dad. My deepest sympathies to Mike's family during this most difficult time of loss.

Mike and I worked together back at United Power. He was a very dedicated, hard working man. I loved when he would come into the office because I knew that it would be an exciting day. His southern twang, his knack for those funny sayings, and his love of music are the things that I will always remember about him. We'd argue over expehse reports, customers, and other work related things and then he would say, "where are we going to eat, I'm hungry." Even though we didn't see each other anymore, we kept in contact through a mutual friend. It saddens me to know that Mike is no longer here with us but I know that he is at rest, at peace, and listening to music all day long with his dad and God. To the McNamara Family, I am so sorry for your loss.

He will be missed by so many family and friends. We answered a wonderful invitation in 2008 by Mike to spend Thanksgiving in his home with Norma-Jean, Beverly, and Kathy and their families....especially our son-in-law Bryan Atkins and our daughter, Jenn. He was the best host and shared his music library with us while we were there. Sending our love and sympathy to all the family and friends.

I was one of the privileged people to call Mike a very dear and close friend. His passing comes as a tremendous shock, as I know it does to all of us. I worked with Mike since the mid 90's at United Power and cannot count the number of laughs we had both on and off the job. He loved his music, and he loved saving a buck. And he would always proudly tout his latest buy at a local pawn shop even when traveling out of town. We had so many laughs together, it's hard to imagine him gone. Even keeping in touch over the years after we had both moved on working at different places, he never changed. He was always quick with a laugh, and a joke, or coming up with some tall tale of a story trying to get you going. He brought so much joy into the lives of all who could call him a close friend. I can't believe I'm writing this about him in past tense. My heart and sincerest condolences go out to his family.

Good-bye my friend

i have know Mike for about 4 years. We got each other through some rough times. He always made me laugh, both at him and myself. His passing leaves a void in my life. I am still trying to process this one and will be for a long time. I know he is happy where he is because that is what we both believed in. He is playing classic rock for the man upstairs now and on albums, not CDs. He never liked the new technology. But he loved his old friends, like me. God bless Mike and his family. I will keep you in my prayers. Donna, Midlothian, Va

Sorry to hear about Michael's passing. I'm wondering if he played guitar in the group Crimson, back in the 70's because I played bass guitar with him. Sincerly, Dennis Harper Williamsburg Va.
