BERMAN, Myron, 83, formerly of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011. He was the past rabbi of Temple Beth-El from 1965 to 1993. In addition, Rabbi Berman was the author of numerous books, including Richmond's Jewry, 1769 1976: Shabbat in Shockoe. He was a professor at Virginia Commonwealth University and William & Mary. Born and educated in New York, Rabbi Berman joined the U.S. Air Force and obtained the rank of Captain. After his service, he held other rabbinical positions before moving to Richmond. Cherishing his loving memory are his devoted wife, Ruth; his daughter, Barrie; and son-in-law, Tony; his son, Gregg; and daughter-in-law, Susy; and his beloved grandsons, Peter and Johnny. A private burial will be held in New Jersey.
