NANCY NUCKOLS

Obituary
The Guest Book is expired.

NUCKOLS, Nancy Warriner, 81, passed peacefully and went home to be with the Lord March 13, 2012. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Charlie; sons, Wes and Mark; grandson, Alec; sister, Maxine Owens, in-laws, nephews, nieces and cousins. A member of Westhampton Baptist Church since 1939, she served as chair of the Cradle Roll, Flower and Hostess committees, and worked with ESL. As a young woman, she was a cheerleader and basketball player, a dancer, and a model at Thalhimers. After marrying Charlie, she was a homemaker, and also worked as a fitness instructor, sales associate at the Colonial Store, caregiver of children in her home, and she ran her own catering business. Her many talents included arts and crafts, flower arrangement, food preparation and presentation, all of which she used to serve others in her church and in business endeavors. Her love of rabbits and hummingbirds, azaleas and seashells, was second only to her love for family. The Lord gave her the courage to deal gracefully with serious health issues, inspiring others along the way. The Nuckols family expresses its sincere thanks to family, close friends and health professionals who provided compassionate care throughout. Her smiling face will always be remembered. A memorial celebrating her life will be held at Westhampton Baptist Church, in Richmond, Va., Friday, April 27, 2012, at 1 p.m.
