Nell White Carter

CARTER, Nell White, age 91, of Manassas, Va., died Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Northern Virginia Health Care Center, Manassas. Mrs. Carter was born May 2, 1919 in Petersburg, Va., daughter of the late John Granville and Etta E. (Clendenon) White. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Manassas, for over 60 years. She was also a member of The Gleaners Circle, The Homemakers Club and The Recreation for Retired Citizens. Survivors include two children, Wayne Carlton Carter (Jean) of Dunnsville, Va. and Wanda Lorraine Cohen (Michael) of Ashburn, Va.; four grandchildren, Stephen Long (Melinda), Christopher Long (Tammy), Kelley Haney (Kevin) and Kimberly Jacobs (Jerry); and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, where funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2010. Interment will follow at Hixson Cemetery, Manassas, Va.
