Oscar Inge

INGE, Oscar Herbert, died peacefully at his home on Gwynn's Island June 11, 2010 at the age of 91. Oscar was born in Nottoway, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar H. and Cynthia E. Inge; his wife of 61 years, Doris Couch Inge; brothers, Harris, Lawrence, Lynwood, Jesse, Claude and Norman Inge; and sisters, Annie Eley and Georgie Pearson. He is survived by his sister, Bessie Mae Stoss of Chesterfield, Virginia, and many nieces and nephews. Oscar served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the CBI Theatre during World War II. He retired from Lee Volkswagen in Woodbridge, Virginia. He and Doris moved to Gwynn's Island in 1985. There he enjoyed gardening, boating, fishing and telling fish tales until his late years. A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 15 at Southlawn Memorial Cemetery, 1911 Birdsong Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805. The family would like to thank his caregivers from the Visiting Angels and a special thanks to Portia Bea for the wonderful care given to him.
