PRISCILLA BELT Obituary

BELT, Priscilla Scott, of Richmond, Va., died on Thursday, April 22, 2010. The daughter of the late Manie Thornton and William Clarke Scott, she was born in Halifax County, January 11, 1910 and graduated from Collegiate School for Girls in 1927. She was predeceased by her husband, H. Singleton Belt; and a daughter, Mary Belt Blakeslee. Survivors include two daughters, Priscilla Belt Webster and her husband, Donald, of Peaks Island, Maine and Anne Belt Norris and her husband, George, of Richmond; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert T. Scott and his wife, Sarah, of Richmond; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Mrs. Belt was an active member of St. James's Episcopal Church, where she was president of the Women's Auxiliary, a dedicated volunteer and active board member of Retreat Hospital, and a member of The Woman's Club, where she served on the board. There will be a graveside service in Hollywood Cemetery on Monday, April 26, at 11 a.m., and a memorial service at Westminster Canterbury the same day at 3 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Westminster Canterbury Foundation or to St. James's Episcopal Church. The family would like to thank the staff of Westminster Canterbury and St. Mary's Hospital for their skill and devoted care.
