Richard Grammer Obituary

GRAMMER, Richard Lee, 68, of Chester, Virginia, died Saturday, November, 14, 2009. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and was a commercial insulator. Mr. Grammer served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Worley Lee and Margaret V. Denson. He is survived by a sister, Margaret Elaine Dabney of Chester; two nieces, Debra Paige H. Shutlock and husband, John, of Spotsylvania, Va., and Tamara Collett H. Bunch and husband, Rick, of Elgin, S.C.; great-nephew, Jeremy Thruston of Spotsylvania; and several great-great-nieces and a nephew. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 19, 2009 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Dr. Ivan Perkinson officiating. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park, Chester, Va. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation Serving Virginia, 1742 E. Parham Road, Richmond, Va. 23228. Condolences may be registered with www.jtmorriss.com.
