Dear Danny and Merit,
I was so sorry to hear of your dad's death. I have many fond memories of times in Buena Vista and Chincoteague with you and your family.

I'm sure going to miss my old friend. In high school we were almost inseparable and at UVA we spent many a weekend partying together. What memories! We've been together many times since college and Shelby and I will miss his wit and friendship. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Sharon and with you Dickie and your family.

It is with deep and heartfelt saddness to learn of the passing of our dear friend,Bobby Brand. Bobby was more than a friend in many ways, one of my roommates in our senior year at the University of Virginia. What fond memories of sitting on our front porch with a "bumper' of beer contemplating the ending of the day! Moreover, my appreciation runs even deeper as he was initially dating a girl from Mary Baldwin College who ended up as my wife Jeanne who has been at my side for 50 years come this December. Our deepest sympathy to our dear friend Dickie Brand, his wife and all of his family.
