Ronald Mark Sr.

MARK, Ronald T. Sr., 73, of Topping, Va. and Lake Placid, Fla., passed away Sunday night, January 3, 2010 at the Florida Hospital Lake Placid. He was born on June 5, 1936 in McMillan, Mich. to parents Russell and Pearl (Destraze) Mark. He served his country for five years in the U.S. Army during Korea and was honorably discharged at the rank of Master Sgt., and was a member of the American Legion Post 244 in Glen Allen, Va. A retired long-distance truck driver with Conoco, a division of Dupont, he moved to Lake Placid as a winter resident in 2000. He was of the Christian Faith, and was a member of the Glen Allen Baptist Church. Ron's passions were his faith, his family and taking care of other people's needs. He loved fishing and his life on the Rappahannock River. Ron will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Patricia Borowski and Yvonne Weston. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Juanita "Nita"; sons, Tommy (Sharon), Paul, Allen (Laura), Chris, Stuart and Craig; and six grandchildren, Ashlee, Austin, Adam, Shanon, Kevin and Kelli; sisters, Nancy Kline (Paul) and Deloris Kirby (Bunk); brother, Russell Mark (Pat); and brother-in-law, Don Weston. Funeral services will be held at a later date in Topping, Va. Family suggests donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
