CARTER, Sarah Ratcliffe Luellen, 85, of Varina, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis P. Carter. She is survived by her children, Norma Luellen Duty (Larry), Roger D. Luellen (Faye), Carol Luellen Smith (Woodrow), James B. "Sonny" Luellen Jr. (Linda); and stepchildren, Delores Carter, Ken Carter, Patricia Elmadany, Joyce Grose, Janice Roach, D. Michael Carter and Deborah Garrison. Sarah is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and many other loving family members and friends. She was a member of Hardy Central Baptist Church and a retiree from AT&T. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 27, 2010, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010. Interment following at Washington Memorial Park. The family wants to extend a special thanks to her caregiver and friend, Pat Washington.

SARAH WILL BE GREATLY MISSED. WE HAD A LOT OF WONDERFUL TIMES AT SHRINE MOTOR PATROL FUNCTIONS. DENNIE AND SARAH ARE TOGETHER NOW AND CAN TALK ABOUT OLD TIMES. GOD BLESS ALL THE FAMILY. ETHEL AND MARION DAWSON

Pam, Sorry to hear about your grandmother. I remember when we lived on Singleton road you would go see her and she would always send a lot of things for you to set out in your yard.
