Dear Sonya,
Happy Birthday ! We went to Louisiana this year (New Orleans) we had a blast. We did cemetery tours, a horror tour, and a bayou tour. We also visited the Sazerac house which I found delightful lol. Chris misses you every day Miss. Sonya, especially today and the days to come. I know you´re here for him, silently watching over him and guiding him in times of need. Today though Miss Sonya can you spend a little extra time with him - he really misses you. I put some photos of our trip! Hope you like them.

Dear Sonya ,
I wish I could have met you in person. Through stories and photos I feel like I´ve known you forever. My name is Nicolette and I´ve been with Chris for 8 years now - I wanted to tell you that he has grown into a fine young man and I know you would be proud of the man he is today.
You are in every decision he makes and every sight he sees. He carries you close to his heart in a structurally sound home carved into heart.
He has matured into a determined zealous man. He tries so very hard at everything he does. He carries on his shoulders burdens that he doesn´t need to but that´s because his heart is just so large. He has been welcomed into my family of unorthodox and crazy Trinidadian people who can not imagine life without him.
I wanted you to know, though it is not easy and I know there are tougher hurdles down the road - I am and will be by his side always. I wanted you to know that he isn´t alone. Even when he thinks he is I´m always right behind him not far .
Love always,
Nicolette 9/24/23
P.S
We go fishing every other weekend or so and this was his first fish - a needlefish I said don´t catch because they have razor sharp teeth and you can get hurt but look how pleased he is with his catch !!

He gave us a special friend for only a short time, to be a mother, daughter, sister, wife, and most importantly a friend. We never know when our time is going to be up but I'm glad that I had the chance to share some of that time with a great friend, Sonya.
The fight is over, the ways of the world are no longer your opponent, for this battle was not yours its the LORD's.
My prayers go out to the family, especially her children who loved her dearly(Tiasia,Michael,Chris,John,& Kobe). Your Blue Ridge Family are here for you all. May God be with you in your time grief.

We little knew that day,
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death, we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide.
And although we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
Love,
Aquila, Jamal, Rasheeda and Sabrina

How can I say goodbye my sweet sister, when I feel like our story was still waiting to fully begin. I supported, prayed and loved you…always at a distance… waiting and hoping that one day soon the seeds that were long before planted…which took root long ago ….would soon take flight and grow into a beautiful garden of memories that we could share as we grew older. Your sudden passing leaves me with an unfinished and untold story…a hard and unforgettable lesson on time and treasured memories of our last conversations. I find peace in knowing that God has given your sweet soul eternal rest and in also knowing that this is not our goodbye…… we will one day meet again…when we are least expecting it… I will see your beautiful face….once again.
To the kids, Roz, Tasha and Fairbanks,
I offer my deepest sympathy and continuous prayer for peace and comfort during this time of loss.
Love,
Sabrina

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

I had a dream about the little girl in the little green skirt and green and white top skipping around and smiling with those long braids just bouncing. You looked so happy. Skip on into heaven my sweet niece. God welcomes you. I love you always.
To Roz, Fairbanks and the kids,
God will take away your pain. Sonya is in his loving arms.I pray that comforts you.
