We just heard the sad news about Stu's passing. From the past years at Phillip Morris (first meeting was a video session of him drumming to the "PM Shuffle"), then on to numerous venues to see him drumming with his band, and through a closer relationship with our circle of friends, we have some wonderful memories of Stu to cherish forever. Our sincere condolences to his family. Carmen & Charles Wilson

My thoughts are with the White family. I remember riding the school bus to Ridge and Crestview with the White boys and what good times we had on Betty Lane.

I had the pleasure of working with Stu for almost 30 years. We spent many weekend shifts together in the data center in the early years. Stu was the perfect gentleman and such a classy guy. Everyone he met became his friend...who could resist that smile?

My hearfelt sympathy goes out to his family. You are in my thoughts and prayers. May it bring you some comfort to know how special he was to so many of us.

It's funny it seems like only yesterday when I was a kid we were taking vacations to Virginia in the summer to see RoseAnn, Stu, and the kids. I remember playing with blondie in the back yard. I also remember Uncle Stu would always take time for me and Rachael, whether it would be taking us to the park to play baseball or go fishing. I will always be eternally grateful for that! I feel better knowing that Stu is in a better place, a place where he is in the presence and love of God. My prayers go out to his family, especially RoseAnn and the kids. Uncle Stu, thank you for the years I had with you. I will always love and remember you!

We were saddened to get the news of Stu's passing. We share so many wonderful family memories. Memories that we will always cherish for a lifetime. You couldn't ask for a better brother-in-law, or uncle. Stu devoted time to be with you individually, and that's just one great quality that everyone remembers about him - and it's those times/memories that seem more precious now. Memories that will be passed on to the next generation.

We can find solace in knowing that Stu and Michael are now reunited together, painfree....

Our prayers are with you Ann, RoseAnn, Christine, Stephen, & Jacob. We pray that God will take the "sting & pain" away each day, and give you comfort.

I will always remember uncle Stu for him saying "Well, Hello Darlin, how are you" in his voice. I can hear it now :) He was always very sweet and welcoming. He always had a smile and would make me laugh. He also was there for my first ocean fishing, getting those 'skates' ugly looking things. You will always be my uncle and remembered. Thank you for all the good times and teaching me how to fish on that ocean pier.

I've known Stuart since high school, but we became friends when we worked together at PM, USA. Second shift would not have been the same without him. My prayers go out to Stuart's family, Anne and children, Roseann, children and grandchild. Stuart was a nice man, a terrific drummer, and lived a good life. He made me not be afraid of motorcycles. Thanks for that. He will be missed so much. Randyl Kirkland (Richmond, VA)

I first met Stuart through some of his 'contemporaries' employed at DMV in the mid 70's. Every time our paths crossed he was the epitome of class. I treasure the quality time spent with Stu and Allan who were, indeed, kindred spirits. R.I.P. (Ride in Peace,) my brother.

Stuart was a big part of our life. Al's best bud from childhood and throughout life; always there if called on. I have never known a person with a bigger heart and always ready to help in any situation. His humor was funny in a childlike, playful way and he had the most joyful laugh. His passing has left a void that only he could fill. Keep riding, drumming and laughing Stu. We will wrap our arms around your memory with love and cherish the times we had. Love and prayers to Ann and Stuart's family.

I first met Stu through my husband Neal Crutchfield, when they worked in the same Philip Morris IS support group. As others have expressed in this guest book, he was super nice and always ready to lend a hand - helped me countless times here at PM. In 1997, Neal succumbed to cancer, as well. I am certain they have reunited, now, and will once again be laughing and telling stories to one another. Paige (Crutchfield) Aderholt (Altria Finance)

I met Stuart in the early 90's when I began working for PM, at the old 20th St. factory. I can remember countless times that I had to solve a data transmission problem on a weekend, and had to contact Stu at home for his help. I was new to the company then, and didn't always know who to contact for support, but Stu was such a nice guy, that even if the problem wasn't in his area of responsibility, he'd try to help me solve it anyhow. I never forgot his kindness, and through the the rest of my years at PM, he remained one of the kindest, most genuine people that I have ever had the honor of working with. I know he will be sincerely missed.

My Uncle....probably one of the most energetic and caring people I've ever known. Throughout my life, he was always there for me as someone to look up to, as well as a close friend. The memories I have of growing up alongside of Stew will be kept close to my heart forever. I can only hope to model my life and the relationships with my friends and family as my uncle did throughout his life. We will continue to celebrate his life in these times of mourning. Love always and forever Stew, R.I.P. 10/23/009.

Well, I guess the fight is finally over Stu....we've been friends since our first band banged out "Hang on Sloopy" in my mother's living room and then onto your mother's porch. Then we moved on to being room mates, college students, cruisers and finally just really good friends....not just ordinary friends, because"Bubba"was never ordinary. Always "the sharp dressed man" and someone you could always depend on....I am particularly sorry for Anne since she, as I did, spent most of her life looking for her "soul mate" and when we finally found them, the time we had together was way too short. We had talked a few days ago about them riding his Harley down to visit when he "got better".......guess we will have to postpone that ride for awhile. Goodby for now, my old friend. You will be missed by many.

A sincere blessing to have worked with Stuart in the short time that I have know him. God is Great and God is Good as we thank the Lord for letting us have Stuart for the while. You will be forever with us in spirit. Paul Childress

Back in the day, Stu was the drummer everyone emmulated. He could make any band sound better. Guys used to go watch him to learn his style, which was playing "in the pocket" like nobodys business. Despite his obvious ability, he had no detectable ego. He was always the first to compliment other drummers, and you remembered a compliment from Stu White. He looked the part of a professional drummer, and he could back it up. Terrific drummer, and even nicer guy.

Stu White was one of my favorite all-time people; always the consummate gentleman and no matter what, looked like he stepped out of GQ! The world will be a less better place for his not being here.
