Thomas Callender Moore Sr.

MOORE, Thomas Callender Sr., 81, of Petersburg, widower of Barbara Spurr Moore, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010. He was a native of Petersburg, born the son of the late William J. and Ella Callender Moore. Mr. Moore was a past member of the Country Club of Petersburg, Second Presbyterian Church and a retired insurance executive. He is survived by his children, Thomas "Cal" Moore Jr. and wife, Donna, Elizabeth Moore Houchins and husband, Gary, William Spurr Moore and wife, Betsy; eight grandchildren, Madison and Ansley Moore, Tyler Stephenson, John, Will and Liza Moore, Barbara and Tyler Houchins; special friends, Robert and Jean Spivey, Gloria and W.F. Dance, Betty Wilson, Gilbert Rideout and Jack Woody. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, January 15, at 2 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Southside Virginia Emergency Crew, P.O. Box 574, Petersburg, Va. 23805.
