KAUFELT, William E. "Way," 89, of Richmond, passed away on November 11, 2010. He was a beloved and generous husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. and Josephine Kaufelt; and sister, Peggy Smith. Ed is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ethel Kaufelt; son, Chris Kaufelt (Ashley); daughters, Susan Johnson, Cindy Kaufelt; sister, Betty Miller (Jack); grandchildren, Jeff Buchanan (Cindy), Mark Johnson (Shannon), Tyler "Pete" Johnson, Lauren Kaufelt; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Caitlin, Cameron; and beloved brother-in-law, Sunny Smith. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II, and attended the Village Presbyterian Church, where he was a longtime active and devoted member of The Men of the Church. The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, November 13, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 14, at Washington Memorial Park.
