WILLIAM MILLER Obituary

MILLER, William Weaver M.D., 76, passed away November 20 in Oberlin, Ohio. Dr. Miller was born September 1, 1933 in Winchester, Va., and lived in Philadelphia, Boston, Germany, Dallas, and Richmond. A graduate of both the Virginia Military Institute and the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, Dr. Miller received further training in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology at the Children's Hospitals of Philadelphia and Boston. As a pediatric cardiologist, Dr. Miller was a faculty member at Virginia Commonwealth University and later went on to private practice in Richmond, Va. In 1987 he established the journal Progress in Pediatric Cardiology. His life was centered around his family and friends, his practice, and the great outdoors. Dr. Miller is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ruth Niemann Miller; son, Walter; daughter, Rachel; three grandchildren, Gehring, Ilse, and Mahala; brother, George Tyler Miller; and sister, Elise Browning Miller. A celebration of his life will be 2 p.m. January 3, 2010 at Kendal at Oberlin, in Oberlin, Ohio.

Deepest Sympathy to Ruth and the children and grandchildren. Bill was such a dear person. I am glad that we had a chance to know him at least briefly.
