Archer,I was sorry to hear about Jack. We were best friends as kids from the time we were five years old and grew up together in the Forest Hill area of Richmond. His parents were always so nice to me and I have fond memories spending time in their homes in Forest Hill and later in Chesterfield County. We had such fun times catching insects, snakes and all other creatures. I learned so much from Jack and today I appreciate all creatures large and small because of him. I still pass on to my grandchildren all of the experiences I had with my best friend "Jackie Redmond"

Sincerely,
Bob Davidson

Archer, I was just speaking about you and Jack with Tony Wallace the other day and sharing fond memories and laughs from St. James' Choir days. I had no idea this had happened until I saw it in the Midlothian paper just today. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Though years have passed, the memories of singing with you and Jack are still with me. May your faith and the love of many friends help you through, and know you're in my thoughts and prayers.

Archer, I'll always remember sitting in the back row of the bass section with Jack, cracking jokes when we should have been paying attention! Either Bruce didn't notice, or just put up with us. They were the best choir practices ever, and I'll always miss those times, and Jack. If there's anything we can do, please call.

My memories of Jack span a few decades and I am so happy that he found such happiness with Archer, though our contact in the last few years waned. So many things crossed my mind when I heard of Jack's passing: scrambled eggs with blue cheese and Worcestershire sauce; Kim chee buried in the back yard; days snake hunting in Jasper, Ocala, watching sand come up through the floorboard of Martin's car...I don't even know if I remember them all...but I do remember this...wit, compassion, curiosity, and a genuine love for all of life. I will remember you forever, Jack. Rest in peace.

Archer - I am still in such shock that putting words to your (and everyone that knew Jack) loss is impossible. I regret so much not spending more time with you both so my boys would have the full appreciation of an amazing man. His memory will live on as we all talk about what a funny, clever and incredible man Jack was. A valuable lesson today to tell your friends often how much they mean to you. Much love to you and your family. Sandy Yeon, Adam, Joey and Jonathan.
