PHILLIPS, Jesse R., 70, of Emporia, died Thursday, November 15, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Loraine G. Phillips; daughter, Pam Thomas and husband, Ray; two granddaughters, Brooke Thomas and Ariel Daniel and husband, Mikey; two sisters, Maxine Braswell and Odell Ingram and husband, Bernard; two brothers, Clyde Phillips and wife, Arlene and Roy Phillips and wife, Bonnie; brother-in-law, Bobby Howerton; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Phillips was the son of the late Wade and Daisy Phillips; and was also preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Phillips; and a sister, Earline Howerton. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd., Jarratt, Va. where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2012.
