He leaves to cherish his memory parents, Berthel R. and John I. Thomas; sister, Leticia Jones; nephew, Myles Thomas; a host of other relatives and friends. Remains rest at March Funeral Home, 2110 E. Laburnum Ave., where viewing will be held Friday, December 7, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and where family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Second Baptist Church, 5100 W. Hundred Rd., Chester, Va. Rev. Dr. Gloria Flowers officiating. Interment private. Flowers are welcomed or contributions can be made to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America Foundation, in the name of Andre` Dremel Thomas.

Bert, Irby, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Andre. I am shocked that one so young is gone. He worked with me at Saint Aug, and we treated him like a son of our class. You have our deepst condolences and sympathy.

Andre, you taught me the inherent importance of truly living each day, in one moment at a time. You convinced me of the belief that in the hardest of times, there's always a beacon of light to travel toward. You helped me see the path may not be clearcut or easy, but the hardest lessons learned make you a better person in the end. You opened my eyes to the power of the Universe and the peace that embracing spirituality can bring a person. All of these lessons will be carried in my heart, my soul and my spirit...
